Joseph’s belief and faith, evidence and fruit

1.      Genesis 39:1-6 Potipher sees that the Lord is with Joseph. Potipher’s household is blessed after he makes Joseph overseer.

2.      41:28-41 Pharaoh recognizes that God provides Joseph with the power and ability to interpret his dream.

3.      Joseph lives faithfully and righteously as a servant of God despite the wrong done to him and despite the suffering he endures.

a)      His brothers sell him into slavery and send him away from his home and father. Joseph does not sin but is falsely accused and thrown into prison. However, God is with him always and everywhere, and the captain of the bodyguard puts Joseph in a leadership position even there. The butler forgets him, leaving him to stay imprisoned for two more years after the dream interpretations.

b)      Lastly, when Joseph’s brothers come to Egypt, Joseph treats them well (42:23), and when he reveals himself, he does not blame God. He says that God sent him before his brothers to preserve life (45:7) and shows his complete contentment in God’s will and plan.
